There’s a particular kind of buzz that can only be felt moments right before something truly remarkable happens. As the crowd gathered in front of the stage at The Dome, the four members of *The Ariston* are found gearing up backstage for their largest London gig to date; and that very buzz coursed through the room like electricity.

By the time the evening’s headliners face the crowd, their stage has already hosted two other fiery acts. *Freight*, an indie-pop four-piece from Warrington, and Stereo Silence, a Camberley based indie-rock band, artfully amplify the ecstatic energy in the room, so when The Ariston at last walk out to the sound of The Verve’s *Bittersweet Symphony* their entrance is nothing if not eagerly – and loudly – celebrated.

The London based indie rock band released their first single, *Yellow Lines,* back in 2022 and through their atmospheric and energetic live performances, they have been gathering a steadily increasing and highly dedicated fanbase. They've since played stages at massive festivals, such as Isle of Wight, Latitude and Leeds, and landed BBC Introducing support for two other singles – *Fiction* and *Simona*, the latter being chosen as The Ariston's very first song of the evening.

*Simona'*s incredibly catchy chorus echoes over and over again by every single voice in the room – and they don't ever let up. Even as the alt-rockers launch into unreleased track *Gettin’ It*, the crowd sings the lyrics back at them just as passionately as they do for what immediately follows – fan favourite single *I Hate It When You’re High*.

A definite highlight of the evening comes straight after the dreamy atmosphere of *Honey I’d Lie To You*. A hard and fast shift in mood hits as Will Parsonson’s gritty bass riffs pull the concertgoers into the wonderful havoc of *The* *Festival*, complete with a moshpit and frontman Luca Slade slinging his wired microphone around. Eventually, it comes to rest around the singer’s neck; hands on his hips as he marvels at the chaos they unleashed.

Things are then quickly – but beautifully – reigned back in. The room is lit up by flashlights upon Slade’s request, before he gives the crowd a quick tutorial on the chorus of *Yellow Lines*. Together, they make a pretty stunning choir before the band briefly leaves the stage, only to return with a stacked encore.

The second to last spot on the setlist is taken by their latest single *Fire*, and guitarist Rich Hiett – sporting a brand new platinum buzz cut – delivers a dreamy guitar solo during the bridge. The band close the show in true rockstar fashion, Slade climbing on top of drummer Finn Bunce’s kick drum as they all rock out to their unreleased track *Amber*.

As The Ariston exit the stage, a different buzz takes over the room – the kind that lingers after lightning strikes.
